TATTOO AFTERCARE
- Remove banage after 1 hour.
Note: If you work in a dusty environment, you want to recover your new tattoo while at work, but remove the bandage as soon as possible after you return home. - Wash your hands then wash your tattoo thoroughly with an anti-bacterial soap (dial) & warm water then pate dry.
- Apply a thin layer of ointment to tattoo (A&D, triple antibiotic). DO NOT use Neosporin, Alcohol or Vaseline. Re-apply ointment 3 or 4 times a day. If your new tattoo appears to be dry, apply ointment in a thin layer. Contine using ointment for 7 to 10 days. After 10 days, you may use a mild hand lotion until healing is complete. Generally, the complete healing time of a tattoo is 30 days.
- During the healing process, try not to let a scab form on your new tattoo. If a scab forms, DO NOT PICK AT IT! Your tattoo will peel like a sunburn and the layer of skin that peels off will have ink in it - This Is Normal!
- If during the healing process your new tattoo should break out in a rash, wash the tattoo really good and switch to another brand of ointment. If the rash persists, call us or your family doctor.
- For the first 2 weeks, DO NOT do the following as we will not be responsible for any damage
to your tattoo:
- Soak in hot tubs, swimming pools, lakes, rivers, or the beach
- Expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds
- Exposing your new tattoo to direct sunlight and/or tanning beds will dry your tattoo out and make it appear as though it has lost color or is dull. After healing, it is wise to use a good uva/uvb sun block on any tattoo you have to help keep the tattoo bright.
- The life of your tattoo is your responsibility. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call us. If you feel as though you need a touch-up, stop in and speak with the tattooist that performed your tattoo and he/she will determine whether or not you will have to pay for your touch-up.
